Their objective was to create a shoe collection that expressed the intersection of design and fashion; to create footwear that explored both aesthetics and innovation and were the result of constant inspiration rather than broad seasonal ranges. As you can see architecture is an inspiration point … this Eames shoe will have you sitting pretty on your chair at the office. It was modeled after the aluminum feet of Eames chairs.
My favourite is the Mono Jane Wedge. Not only are there a plethora of colours to choose from but they look so amazingly comfortable. They are fully-moulded in lightweight EVA (I think similar to crocs) with leather for the strap and footbed – not sure about the smelly feet factor but we have solutions just in case – although I’m sure they would have that covered.
And you may notice on these Fold shoes, the strip runs continually around the foot folding front-to-back-to-front like a scarf.
Of course they have celebrity fans including Winona Ryder, Madonna and Jessica Simpson.
And the good news is, they do deliver internationally.
Shoes are definitely making statements these days and that just gives us shoe addicts more reasons to have to have them in our wardrobes even if we only wear them once or just admire them from afar because we can’t bear to go outside in them or because they look pretty!
