Oh my goodness my lovelies, can you believe there’s only 37 days until CHRISTMAS???? Ekkkkkk … where has the time gone? I swear last Christmas was just yesterday.
I was in the Sydney CBD last week and had to go and have a squizz at David Jones‘ Christmas windows, they are a favorite destination each year. They remind me when I’ve been in the Northern hemphisphere for Christmas.
This year’s theme is Santa’s workshop elves, so each window has the elves doing different activities in the workshop … they aren’t as elaborate as other years which was a little bit disappointing but they will still excite the little ones which is really who Christmas is for. The clever people who bring the magic to the windows are based in Noosa, Promotions in Motion.
The Christmas warning signs have been around for sometime I know, but denial is a natural state of mind. The department stores started stocking Christmas goodies in-store early September, which is just ridiculously insane really, we’ve only just hit Spring. In the US they have Halloween and Thanksgiving before Christmas so they are a little bit more restrained in getting their Chrissy goodies out therefore creating more of a sense of anticipation and excitement that Christmas is nearly here!
Anyway, Paper D’Art are my favourite favourite Christmas cards and paper company, they come from the UK and I buy them every year to send out to all my lovely friends … this is their latest catalogue of amazing art … to be honest I don’t know which design I love best! You can get their products in Target and David Jones.
And if you are interested in finding out more about the the clever creative talent behind these Christmas products, then read Reuben’s interview.
Anyway, it’s time for me to go and start my Christmas shopping, I hope you’ve started yours too.
