I continue to be such a sucker for gorgeous packaging, colour and aspirational brands. Shu Uemura is one of those.
Who wouldn’t want this picture of divine beauty products sitting on their dresser at home? I even want them sitting on the pink background! But I do draw the line at a pink dresser, phew!
This collaboration is a burst of Japanese technicolour from the artistic talent of Mika Ninagawa. This legendary photographer has artfully placed her amazingly colourful visuals onto these gorgeous compacts and they are just so bloomin’ marvelous.
And the exciting news is the divine Shu Uemera counters have arrived in Australia exclusively at David Jones in Sydney and Melbourne. No longer do we have to stock up on these cult products while travelling abroad or beg our friends to bring some home. While both counters stock the brand\’s world-famous cosmetics and skincare range, they also feature a Lash Bar where you pop in to have a set of Shu Uemura lashes artfully applied to your peepers for any occasion. The lavish Viktor & Rolf couture lashes might not be your thing, but there are 39 different sets of lashes available ranging from $30-50 (courtesy of Vogue).
The Christmas season is the perfect time to dress up, apply make-up and go for broke to stand out in the crowd. You can book in for a Shu Uemura Christmas makeover. Why don’t you go with your girlfriends on a Thursday or Friday night at one of their Lash parties and all get an eye makeover?
And courtesy of Primped, check out these two videos with Shu Uemura\’s genius International Artistic Director, Kakuyasu Uchiide and Jody Oliver’s video applying Shu Uemura make up.
I definitely need some more practice on my eye make up, but that’s half the fun, having a play and getting it right (or sometimes very very wrong). And how heavy do those lashes look on? In the video you will see the model blinking more than usual.
Anyway, get over to your closest counter and try them on and let me know what you think, Christmas party season is the perfect time to do it.
