I admit I am a fan of Hello Kitty, I have been since I was a young girl. My Dad used to fly planes for Qantas (he’s retired now) and he used to bring us back lots of Hello Kitty cutesy items from Japan, my sister and I just loved it! My brother missed out, but we didn’t care we were avid collectors! So I was excited to hear that Hello Kitty was collaborating with MAC Cosmetics.
Did you know that Hello Kitty is 34 years old? And that the Hello Kitty character usually assumed to be a cat, is actually a girl! She clearly needs to get some nads onto those whiskers then doesn’t she?
So over those 34 years, Hello Kitty has certainly evolved and branched out into some amazing collaborations, and not so amazing, I really have to shake my head and wonder why, why did they need to collaborate on sanitary items for women, really! I did a search for you on my favourite blog, Trend de la Creme for some of the weird and wonderful things Hello Kitty has collaborated on! Clearly she has decided to grow up but she’s obviously still adored world-wide by what she represents; cute, fun and girlie!
Anyway, this is a collaboration that I applaude with anticipated glee and hope it arrives here … WWD officially confirmed MAC‘s collaboration with Sanrio’s Hello Kitty, slated to hit US stores on February 10. The cosmetic line will feature lipsticks, lip glosses, eye shadows, pigment, glitter, nail polish, and more in shades of pink, turquoise, lavender, and green.
How gorgeous does the collection look? I can’t wait to get some for me. I might have to send my best friend in LA, Bradley, off shopping for me on February 10 if we don’t!!!
Temptalia reports that there will be two lines available; Hello Kitty Colour Collection and Hello Kitty Kouture! Although the bulk of the collection will be the Colour Collection, the Kouture collection is the more high end collection (I even like the word kouture!).
This is sure to be a popular collaboration for girls everywhere … so pop the date into your diaries girls and let’s cross everything for it to arrive on Australian shores!
