The lovely peeps from St Ives sent me a goodie bag a few weeks ago and it’s been lots of fun playing with their goodies.  I’m a fan of the St Ives brand (it was founded 25 years ago); its presentation is always clean and simple and I think the products are great value and fabulous to use;  nothing fancy just sensibly Swiss and we all need a bit of sensible in our lives!!im_4

I love the Swiss Vanilla Hand & Body Moisturiser; perfect for sun kissed skin during the summer months.  It leaves a delicate scent of vanilla on my skin and no greasy residue.  It also comes in a yummy body wash.  Both the body wash and the moisturiser use Swiss botanicals and Vitamin E.  The body wash (400ml) retails for: $5.49 and the hand & body moisturiser (532ml) retails for $6.99 which is excellent value for us beauty addicts who love to slather our bods in yummy body washes and body creams every day.

A new addition to the St Ives stable are two Body Polishes; Mineral Therapy and Collagen Elastin.  I used the Mineral Therapy Polish. The Polish is in a cream and was really easy to apply and get a consistent scrub action going.  It didn’t leave an oily residue behind (and looked really pretty in the pot, a perfect swirl of dotted creamy scrub).  My preference for exfoliating in the shower is the good ol’ body brush and adding a dollop to your brush gives you a very vigourous scrub down.  The body polish retails for $9.99.

gentle-scrub-08_smlrSt Ives is famous for their Apricot Scrubs and I believe Apricot Scrubs are a teenage rite of passage, well it was when I was in my teens, it was the start of my addiction to the exciting new world of beauty care!  They have three scrub variants in the range, catering to different skin types; Invigorating, Blemish Control and *NEW* Renew & Firm.

But the newest product to the Apricot Scrub table is the Apricot Exfoliating Mask – Invigorating and Mineral Clay Firming Mask – Deep Pore Cleansing.  They say it’s a speedy pick-me up for tired, dull skin and takes effect in less than three minutes, features gentle exfoliants to deeply cleanse and remove dead, dull skin cells and is suitable for all skin types.  I used the Exfoliating Mask and afterwards it left my skin feeling clean and soft.  I applied it before I jumped in the shower, so it was easy to wash off after waiting the requisite three mins.  It comes in a handy pack of three single use ampules but I’ve got three uses out of one ampule, I just turned the plastic thing you break off upside down in the hole to keep it sealed.  Retails for $9.99.

St Ives is available at all major supermarkets and selected pharmacies and is a great Lipstick Economy purchase!

  1. yes the apricot scrub is a right of passage, if only I had discovered it in my teenage years, I feel substanial distress may have been eliminated…

I remember my mum and older sister always had the apricot scrub back in the day. I have used it from my teens into adulthood and I just started using the blemish control scrub the other day. It has a slightly different scent to it but smells just as gorgeous and makes my face feel so much cleaner and smoother. St Ives have some of the best scents for their body lotions too.
