Barbie continues her 50th birthday celebrations (actually I wouldn’t be surprised if we see her pop up in Vogue’s 50th Celebration book or September issue because she’s collaborating with everyone across the world) and this time it’s here in Sydney as Scanlan & Theodore’s new muse. And you know me, I’ve become a bit of a Barbie reporter so I just have to post.
Scanlan & Theodore have created a miniature Barbie runway presentation at their Paddington boutique. The exhibit made its debut at the Barbie Forever exhibition in Melbourne and coincides with their new season launch last week. It will be on display at the Oxford Street store for three weeks, so we’d best hurry on down to have a squizz.
The miniature runway features pieces from their Spring 2009 collection, which are available in store. For the runway Barbie’s hair was styled by Sophie Roberts, while MAC’s Linda Jefferies applied the make-up (so cute). Below are three looks from Scanlan & Theodore’s Spring 2009 collection.
Scanlan & Theodore join the likes of Chanel, Dior and Martin Margiela in celebrating Barbie’s 50th birthday. You can view some of her designer duds here.
