Girls fall into two categories. Either they are shoe princesses, or handbag queens. I am definitely the former. When I moved to a smaller house I cleaned out over half my wardrobe of clothes and bags – but all my shoes stayed. My collection verges on over 100 pairs, and if I am being honest is probably closer to 150. So it was with much delight that I recently discovered London based INSA heels through my lovely friend Sassi 
And what a discovery! Look at these babies! 13cm heels, splashes of colours, art brilliance. Taking street style to high street, INSA is a joint venture between artist, INSA and shoe designer Ruth Shaw. Based in London, this luxury footwear label releases only small numbers of their designs, keeping them exclusive and individual.
Previous collections have included gold, pinks and green while the new Miami range combines pink and turquoise with yellow, creating an electric design worthy of the boardwalks and beaches in the sunshine state. The Stand Alone shoe features an amazing heel – 10cm shapely legs holding up the wearable art that is the INSA shoe.
You’ll want to walk around in these heels all day just to ensure your pins look as well-formed as your shoes.
So who are the people wearing the shoes at INSA? INSA himself is the artist and designer whose background in graffiti gives him plenty of scope for creating unique artworks on these beautiful shoes. Ruth Shaw is a shoe designer who has been in the business for over 10 years. Together, INSA and Ruth share a love of heels, sneakers, design and colour.
The third design in the current collection, The Throwette, is an ankle boot of spectacular proportions. In turquoise, pink and black, the heel is super shiny and contrasts beautifully with the suede of the shoe.
INSA shoes retail for £175 upwards and charge £18 to ship to Australia, with delivery taking minimum 14 days. The styles sell out quickly so if you see something you like, don’t hesitate. Time and shoes wait for no woman to make up her mind!
