Amanda Cole Author of I Hate Cinderella
I felt privileged to totter off and join a select group of talented, driven and happy women (with Miss Sassi Sam herself) to witness the re-launch of Inika Mineral Makeup held at the the most divine location, the Sergeants’ Mess, Chowder Bay.
As soon as we drove onto Chowder Bay Road, it felt like all our stresses just disappeared and we were on a secret little getaway, away from the hustle and bustle of the City (yet so close still). Inside it was incredibly decandant and stylish and as a photographer I was literally busting to get my camera out to take some shot of the massive red chairs and stylish chandeliers that line the way to the creative and uber fun bathrooms – the wall of the toilets look like a wall of black- a bit reminiscent of London!).
I ran into Miss Primped herself, Zoe foster, and we found ourselves dwarfed in the Alice in Wonderland style chairs!
The view is amazing, as it looks out to Sydney Harbour and as the night fell and we were all ushered into the dining hall for some of the most sumptuous vegetarian food I have had at a function! The mouth watering dessert, chocolate mouse with raspberry coulis, ended our night on a high note!
The fabulous team from Inika presented a no nonsense education about the scary fact that we are putting so many unnecessary and partiality harmful chemicals on our skin. Also that we have no idea what these chemicals are doing to our body, and made the very valid point that why should we damage our skin and our environment with the products when we can be using natural resources (such as aloe vera juice and bees wax, jojoba oil etc).
We enjoyed Inika‘s presentation of their tempting new colour palettes and colour range, detailing the wholesome benefit for each product. We were served up a silver tray of the new products on our tables and we happily experimented with delightful results; the new base (soft and rich), foundation (love the feel), eye shadows (I walked away with a new favourite, the Inikia Sapphire blue) and an eye-make up remover that was so efficient and gentle!
It was a fantastic, educational and insightful evening that lead me to chucking out lots of my old makeup when I got home to make way for the fabulous Inika black and gold products that now have taken pride of place on my dresser!
It was such an awesome evening, Sassi and I want to live at Sergeant’s Mess, Chowder Bay!
