Following on from Part 1 of my tips and tricks on how to help to save time when it comes to our beauty routine. Plus what are we NOT doing that we COULD be doing that would make our ever hectic lives that much easier?!

I\’ve chatted to a mixture of experts and friends on the topic and have come up with a list of tips and tricks that I hope will make sure you don\’t neglect yourself just because things are crazy busy around you!

Tip # 2 – An Oldie but a Goodie! Lucas\’ Paw Paw Ointment…It\’s Good For Just About Everything…

Good ol\’ Lucas\’ has been a staple in my handbag, bedside table, kitchen draw, bathroom cabinet and glovebox for as long as I can remember. That darling little red tube/tub is oh so handy and is responsible for numerous time saving tricks! Here are my fave uses for it…

Luscas Papaw Ointment

Tantalised Tootsies – I swear by this and even my podiatrist agrees it works! Before bed, rub Lucas\’ all over your feet, concentrating on the dry areas. Pop on cotton socks and go to sleep…you will awake to deliciously soft tootsies that will be just craving for attention in strappy stilettos!

Calm Cuticles – Rub Lucas\’ into your cuticles morning and night or whenever you feel after applying hand cream to nourish them and make them more manageable when getting your next mani. Remember that your often neglected cuticles are the life source of your nails so looking after them equals healthy, long and strong nails!

Mascara?! What Mascara?! – Heading out for a leisurely day at the beach or shopping with friends and don\’t want to deal with mascara smudges? I can\’t use waterproof mascara because I find it irritates my contact lenses so…apply a dash of Lucas\’ on the pad of your index finger and thumb and gently apply to your lashes after curling them for instant lift and volume! A double tip is to heat your lash curling tongs with a hairdryer beforehand so that it gives your lashes extra oomph and helps set them in that curled position! Keep your lil\’ tube of wonder in your handbag all day to re-apply whenever you feel the need!

Luscious Lips – This isn\’t anything new but I think that Lucas\’ is the best lip balm on the market. Glossy, nourishing, regenerative…why not apply some to an old toothbrush and exfoliate your lips once a week for an even smoother, chap free pout?!

Ingrown Hairs Banished! – Apply Lucas\’ post wax/shave/depilatory to keep ingrown hairs at bay. Paw Paw enzymes stimulate the skin and have high regenerative properties. Bundle this in an ointment and it\’s gentle enough to use anywhere on your body…and I mean anywhere! For severe ingrown hair issues, I also highly recommend applying either Tea Tree oil or Lavender oil neat to the affected area with a cotton bud prior to applying the Paw Paw ointment. Do this morning and night until the issue is abated and then just treat the area daily with Lucas\’ to maintain.

Stray Flyaways? – I\’m sure that hairdressers out there would moan at my next tip but being a gal with thick curly hair that I regularly straighten, the ‘flyaway\’ is a constant issue for me. If I\’m not near or have run out of an anti frizz serum (I favour Toni and Guy Tame-It Serum) then I use Lucas\’! No…really! I apply a little as if it were a serum and it works a charm…especially if my hair\’s in an up-do or ponytail.

Lavender herb and essential oil

Tip # 3 – Blemishes Disappear…In a Flash!

A lot of people swear by Tea Tree essential oil to treat blemishes and so do I but I have found that at certain times of the month, often when I need it the most, it can be a tad harsh on my skin. So…I use Lavender essential oil. Lavender is an antiseptic but is gentler on the skin than Tea Tree. It is also effective on bites and stings to take away the itch. Simply apply using a cotton bud directly to the blemish after moisturising and see the effects! I recommend using morning and night for as long as you need.

These are some time saving tips that I regularly use but I would love to hear some of yours! You can email me at or comment below to share your tips with the rest of us!
