Everyone’s talking about the sneak peaks of Lara Stone for Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2010 ad campaigns. Shot by Steven Meisel, she is replacing Madonna from Fall/Winter 2009/10. You can see the Madonna campaign images here.
“After two seasons with such a huge star, [artistic director] Marc [Jacobs] decided to take a breather and work with a model — and not just any model. It\’s the choice of a new supermodel,” said Antoine Arnault, Vuitton\’s communication director, as he unveiled a campaign slated to break in February fashion titles. “She clearly has a Brigitte Bardot look.” wwd
In the six visuals (so far there’s only three being released), Lara Stone is pictured in a series of Bardot-esque poses on a bed of moss and ferns, surrounded by white doves.
“It was a wonderful shoot,” continues Marc Jacobs. “Doves were flying, the atmosphere was sexy and magical, and the result is a set of images that are desirable, colorful, whimsical and, of course, luxurious.”
The ad campaign will start showing in the February 2010 issues of magazines worldwide.
They very much remind me of the Stella McCartney ad campaign I showed you earlier this year even though there’s no use of cartoons here, it just has that same feel to it. I haven’t decided if I’m disappointed or not yet, I much prefer the Catherine McNeil catalogue campaign images, they seem to go hand in hand with the Louis Vuitton brand much better.
