Madonna for Dolce & Gabbana campaign

Wow, Madonna as we’ve never seen her before and to be honest I really love them, they are so honest and don’t have the usual photoshopped feel to them which is an awesome change.  The images were exclusively released by Vanity Fair Italy as a preview of Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring/Summer 2010 ad campaign.

As we know Madonna was controversially the face of Louis Vuitton but was replaced by Lara Stone. To me Madonna is a perfect fit for this sexy Italian brand.  Photographed by Steven Klein, it’s so different to his usual high-gloss campaigns that I love posting about 🙂

Although it is a bit of a stretch to imagine her in the traditional Italian mama role

Stefano Gabbana was asked as to whether Madonna knows how to wash dishes “Certainly…she’s a very practical woman...” And does she actually eat spaghetti despite her most enviable figure? “Of course, says Stefano, and she can allow herself too with all the exercise she does!

… I can’t really imagine her doing the dishes, if I had her money I can guarantee you I wouldn’t be!

What do you think?  Do you like the down-to-earthiness of them?  Do you see Madonna in a different light?

I definitely agree with my friend Sassybella, “we can’t wait to see more“.

I love this ad campaign! Agree, Madge is perfecto for D&G in so many ways.

Mostly, I love how she is dressed (well, that she is in fact actually dressed). Lately, when I see pix of our girl the words “put it away” spring to mind, but these show her as a hot, sexy woman with a ripped body that are easy – not queasy – on the eye.

She looks amazing and I love the ads. But I think there’s still a fair bit of photoshop work in them 😉
