Love Magazine’s collection of nude covers

Love Magazine has had us all on a countdown for their Third Issue with the slow release of now we know EIGHT covers.  Photographed by Mert & Marcus, the drip feed started with this cover of Lara Stone and ended with a replica cover of the eight models in the same pose with last model off the block Kate Moss.  The eight models are:

Lara Stone, Janeil Williams, Kristen McMenamy, Daria Werbowy, Amber Valletta, Natalia Vodianova, Naomi Campbell, and Kate Moss.

In this saturated world of magazine’s I guess it’s clever to generate so much attention for a relatively new magazine but as some have mentioned, is it disappointing to feature ‘famous’ models?

Interestingly Vogue UK are reporting that:

The models were stripped down for the Fashion Icons issue to discuss body image and size. Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott snapped the models in exactly the same position, and minimal cover lines draw your attention to the model and her figure. With the release of the magazine comes the release of their measurements, to show that all figures are different.

“For this issue of Love, we took eight women who are generally acknowledged as the most beautiful in the world, got them to show off their bodies—widely regarded as the most perfect in the world—and photographed them all in exactly the same position for the cover,” said Love\’s editor-in-chief Katie Grand. “We did this to show how much they differed physically from one another, which is why we also printed their measurements.”

Love Magazine will be on newstands February 8th … what do you think? Do you think they’ll surprise us with another cover that’s completely different? And what do you think about the Body Image & Size statement?
