Taylor Swift: US Elle April 2010

| 6 March , 2010 | 2 Replies

Taylor Swift has two covers for US Elle magazine’s April 2010 issue with an interview and fashion pictorial inside, photographed by Alexei Hay.  Her hair is straightened, we’ve seen it straight before and we weren’t sure we liked it, she actually reminds me of Jennifer Connelly with her hair straight.  I absolutely adore the white top and shorts she’s wearing, how cute are those ruffles around the bottom of the shorts?

Inside Taylor shares with Elle:

ELLE: You started writing music when you were 12, and your first record came out when you were 16. How long were you actually in high school?

Taylor Swift: I was in high school freshman and sophomore year, and then I went on the road. I homeschooled the rest of the way. My brother\’s always calling me the dropout of the family.

ELLE: Do you even have a driver\’s license?

Taylor Swift: I did get my driver\’s license in tenth grade, but I failed my permit test so many times that I ended up just bursting out crying the last time I went to the DMV. They gave [me a permit] because they felt bad, and I only missed it by one question.

On finding inspiration from relationships: “I like to categorize the various levels of heartbreak. I\’ve only had that happen once. A letdown is worth a few songs. A heartbreak is worth a few albums.”

On media scrutiny: “I\’ve had countless opportunities to do some really bad things. And then people start combing through everything I do trying to find the next mistake and misperception, which leads to more scrutiny. Like, if I go to a bar, even if I\’m not drinking, who\’s to say that a source isn\’t going to say that I was doing something I shouldn\’t have been doing? So it\’s not only about your own moral compass, but the moral compasses of other people that you don\’t know.”

I love her too, I love her wholesomeness and I loved it when Ellen scared her on Ellen, that was seriously so funny although I hope Taylor didn’t hurt herself when she fell over 🙂
