I was surprised to learn that Vogue Australia had chosen to do an interview and pictorial with Ruby Rose, she’s not renowned for her high fashion (although she does wear high-end designers) but the black bob wig, photography by Todd Barry and styling by Meg Grey has her looking her most glamboyant!
Vogue’s front cover is pastel-hued with Rosie Tupper on the cover wearing a Willow dress photographed by Nicole Bentley and styled by Naomi Smith.
Entitled “Rose Gold: changing the rules of cool” inside Ruby shares:
On living life with the paparazzi:Â “I don’t want to become that person that everyone is sick of seeing and hearing about, if I’m starting to get sick of hearing my name then everyone else must be absolutely well and truly over it.”
Being a high profile lesbian: “Since cutting my hair short I find myself being conscious of making sure I add femininity into my style, I don’t want to tick the boxes of society’s stereotypical image of a lesbian.”
Future plans: In two years she would like to be in the UK and in 10 years time; “I would like to have paid of my mother’s mortgage, be living in Berlin with a clothing label, a few movies under my belt, a TV show, a wife and a fwe kids. I’m very ambitious, but at the end of the day I am super-maternal; I don’t look it, but it’s true.”
Gossip Note: Look out for a new website from Ruby, she’s finally getting one!
On newsstands now, there are some lovely fashion pictorials inside to get all dreamy over.
