I’m so behind today, I slept in so you’ve probably already seen the news but in case you haven’t Diane Kruger is the face of Calvin Klein’s new fragrance “Beauty” as reported by WWD and photographed by Craig McDean in Berlin.
The interesting point that everyone is making about this new fragrance campaign is that there is no overt sexual connotations to the campaign, and it’s so clean, simple and really makes me want to rush out and buy a bottle.Â In addition, the scent itself is a sophisticated floral designed to appeal to Calvin Klein Collection customers.
According to Catherine Walsh, senior vice president of American Fragrances at Coty Prestige, the concept was really a woman\’s inner beauty. “It\’s very elegant, and that\’s why we wanted to work with Diane,” said Walsh, adding that reinforcing the ties between the Calvin Klein fashion and fragrance worlds was also important. “This woman we\’re trying to portray â€” she\’s not someone who doesn\’t have experiences in her life. We wanted this woman to be worldly and well-traveled, a confident woman and a woman who had strength.”Â <—- See that’s me 🙂
The scent, developed with Sophie LabbÃ© of International Flavors & Fragrances, has top notes of ambrette seeds, a heart of jasmine and a drydown of cedarwood.
Eaux de parfum in three sizes â€” 1 oz. for $50, 1.7 oz. for $65 and 3.4 oz. for $85 â€” will be sold, as will a 200-ml. bath and shower creme, $34, and a 200 ml. body lotion, $42. The fragrance bottle is an elongated egg shape of glass encased in a metallic silver shell. Outer packaging is of glossy white with a silver halo.
