Alexander McQueen Cruise 2011 Collection

WWD reveals Sarah Burton’s first collection for Alexander McQueen Cruise 2011.

Inspired by Hans Bellmer’s dolls and samurai warriors, Burton said she wanted to “juxtapose the pale and the delicate with the bold and armorial. It’s about a highly structured torso that gives way to a more fluid silhouette or drop waists that lead to a finned trouser or skirt.”

They say the strapless and draped printed chiffon in red and black is a stunner and that materials used in the collection include lacquered raffia, hand-worked lace, wool crepe and silk — in pinks and white with flashes of red, mint green and gold.

I’m not a McQueen expert and I look at everything from a ready-to-wear perspective and this looks like a stylish ready to wear collection.

looks nothing like Alexander Mcqueen, If you want a designer who knows the essence of Mcqueen check in face book a guy named ILHOKIM…….this guy thinks and walks and makes clothes like McQueen and he is much creative…..he is Korean by the way…i think he should design for mcqueen, right now he is in the middle east designing party dresses for the royal family. i bet he would love to go all the way to UK and show you whats real balance in art and craft.

I wouldn’t say disappointed but the McQueen essence is definitely missing.
