Wow, will you look at this abundance of colour at the Christian Dior Fall Couture Runway Show for John Galliano’s Fall/Winter 2010/11 Collection in Paris, it is so extravagant!
The gowns are so big, beautiful and completely mesmerising, it’s a hothouse explosion of colour and extravagance with lots of cinched waists and layers and layers of detail and textures, lots of different textures:
“I\’m having a floral moment,” said John Galliano, Dior\’s designer, who came out in a straw country hat, while the models\’ bulb-shaped hairdos were wrapped in colored cellophane like elegant, upturned bouquets.
I am a bit concerned about the cellophane wrapping of the models’ heads, no other industry would get away with something dangerous like that!
But look at the shoes, they look like vines wrapping around the models’ feet, and the heels, check out the heels!!! And not being disrespectful in anyway, but those big pouffey dresses remind me of the Toilet Role Holder Dolly! :-) But the level of detail is incredible. Can you imagine how must this cost from creation to runway?
Jessica Alba who was front row at the show said: I would like to be a flower, any flower in John Galliano’s garden!”
