Body Shop’s Deodorant Powered By Volcanic Minerals

| 9 July , 2010 | 4 Replies

I have a slight obsession about deodorants, I’m very fussy and quite sensitive, I’ve been using gel deodorants from the US since I first discovered them some dinosaur years ago and I have to either beg someone to bring some back with them if they are on a trip or stock up when I visit (poor Dad used to always have to stock up for me from Longs Drug Store in Honolulu). I’ve never understood why our shelves aren’t bursting with the gel versions, they are the best!

Totally side-tracked … I am currently using and loving The Body Shop’s new DeoDryâ„¢ deodorants that have no aluminium salts in them, they aren’t gels but they are bursting with all kinds of wonderful goodness for me and the planet!!

Although they don’t have the lasting power as regular deodorants, you do need to put it on a couple of times a day to refresh whereas with my gels I only need to put it on once a day.

The first deodorant collection of its kind, powered by natural volcanic mineral, delivering dryness and 24-hour odour protection while staying kind to the sensitive skin in our pits!!

DeoDryâ„¢ is the ideal alternative for a natural approach to beauty and grooming. The products are free from aluminium salts and parabens but still deliver excellent dryness and odour control, plus they won\’t leave white marks on your clothes.  Yay for that!

The unique patented technology of natural volcanic minerals in an ultra-fine powder have remarkable water absorption capacity to guarantee dryness. It is this powder that absorbs wetness, so your underarms stay fresh and you can feel confident for up to 24 hours.

The DeoDryâ„¢ Collection also features skin-caring organic aloe vera sourced from Guatemala through The Body Shop\’s unique Community Trade program. The roll-on features alcohol created from organic sugar cane juice and sourced through Community Trade from Ecuador.

Eco-warriors can further rejoice as DeoDryâ„¢ roll-on is available as a refill. Simply screw the refill onto the original roll-on applicator, and do your bit to help reduce waste in the environment.

DeoDryâ„¢ deodorants also contain a blend of essential oils which provide a natural antibacterial effect, each carefully selected for their natural odour control properties.

Choose from two formats – roll-on or stick – each of which is available in three fragrances: Cool & Zesty, Chilled & Breezy and Fresh & Floral.

Cool & Zesty and Chilled & Breezy both have a unisex citrus fragrance with lemon, thyme, eucalyptus, lemongrass and mandarin essential oils. Fresh & Floral features a more feminine fragrance, with geranium, mandarin, camomile, coriander and clove essential oils.

Sorry to hear that, I do work in an office and not out in the heat so that will surely make a difference 🙁

Well after about 2-3 hours your pits will smell. This always happens when i go to school. I go to school at 7 am and when it’s 10 am, recess time, my pits will smell horrible. Im using the blue one. Probably because it’s hot here and I tend to sweat easily. To my experience, it’s not recommended to those who do heavy work and sweat a lot because this deodorant will not help. I had no problems with my previous deodorants.

I do like these deodorants but you do need to use them a couple of times throughout the day, they just don’t last like regular deodorants. I’m also using the Garnier Mineral Deodorant and that lasts much longer but it has zinc in it still which is a shame.
Just give one a go and see how it works for you, but I would recommend you carry one around with you to refresh.

I’ve been looking to make switches to as many natural and free-trade products I can. Deodorant is definitely at the top of the list. I can’t seem to find one that gets consistently good reviews. Just like this one. This is actually the first good review I’ve seen for it. I don’t know what to do…
