In its second year, The Body Shop\’s Stop Sex Trafficking of Children and Young People campaign, will again be raising awareness of the scale and prevalence of the trade in human lives. The campaign is being run in conjunction with Child Wise, Australia\’s leading international child protection charity working to prevent child abuse and exploitation in Australia, Asia and the Pacific.
The Body Shop and Child Wise believe that a key step towards stopping this modern-day slave trade is to raise public support, which, in turn, encourages governments to take action and effect change. In addition to raising awareness of the issue, the Stop Sex Trafficking of Children and Young People campaign also seeks to help those requiring immediate support by raising vital funds.
The proceeds from the sale of Soft Hand, Kind Heart Hand Cream are being used to help change the lives of millions of children and young people through the work of Child Wise and affiliated groups in countries around the world.
The Stop Sex Trafficking of Children and Young People Campaign is being run from 26 July 2010 for three weeks. Soft Hands, Kind Heart Hand Cream RRP$13.95 with all profits donated directly to Child Wise.
As always, I am shocked to see statistics like this, to learn more about the campaign visit www.thebodyshop.com/stop.
