Myer Spring/Summer 2010 Season Launch

| 6 August , 2010 | Reply

Jennifer Hawkins opened the seaside-themed show at Carriageworks in Sydney last night (5th August) in a full-length nude dress by designer Aurelio Costarella, nude being one of the Spring/Summer season’s key trends which we also saw over at David Jones, clearly nude is the new black …

“I’m looking forward to layering up the nude tones, rose pinks and salmon. I think with the luxurious fabrics around they look stunning on and you feel beautiful in them,” she said.

Jen showcased her own swimwear range Cosi against a backdrop of a giant seashell and Jess strutted out in Seafolly.  Ruby Rose’s designs for Milk and Honey also appeared on the catwalk along with Nicola Finetti, Jayson Brunsdon, Fernando Frisoni and many more.

Jennifer said she wanted the spotlight to shine on Australian designers:

“It’s our fashion industry and we need to support it so we can grow and be respected,” Hawkins said.  “I do get behind international designers, but I have a soft spot for Australian designers, especially good ones.”  “Myer do have phenomenal designers, and there are so many on the catwalk.” (news)

All the models wore Illamasqua make up with two key designs created by Creative Director of Illamasqua, Alex Box.  The Avant Garde Gold face that turned the models into ‘golden goddesses‘ and the Ready-to-Wear was more ‘tailored‘.

See my backstage post with Jessica Hart, you can check out all the red carpet arrivals and I’ll be posting on the make up looks with Alex Box later.

UPDATED:  I’ve just posted a VIDEO of the fashion show and new bigger images from the fashion parade.
