Good girl Jill Jekel has always played by the rules, while bad boy Tristan Hyde had practically been born to break them.

After the death of her father, and the disappearance of her savings, the only chance Jill still has of going to college, arises from a chemistry scholarship.

In order to better her odds, Jill knows she\’s going to need help. Taking a risk, she seeks out the mysterious Tristan Hyde for assistance.

But what will happen when these two opposites collide?

And what secrets will threaten to tear them apart?

Jekel Loves Hyde is the second book by YA Paranormal writer Beth Fantaskey. Part thriller and part paranormal romance, this novel is an exciting read that will keep you guessing and on the edge of your seat.

It is an edgy twist on a classic theme, with modern plotting and a hint of gothic romance. There are plenty of twists that will keep you on edge, while you watch in anticipation as the romance between Jekel and Hyde develops.

This book will bring out your darker side, as you both cheer and boo the main characters. Sometimes a little awakening of a dark side can be a good thing, too much however, could also lead to a downfall&

Working together, Jill and Tristan attempt to recreate the original experiments from the classic novel, Jekyll and Hyde. But there\’s something eerie about Tristan\’s behaviour. As both delve deeper into the experiments, they soon find themselves drawn into a mystery that surrounds both their families.

This book carries a dark, gothic air, which I can\’t help but love. My only comment would be that although it was to be expected, I found that Jill and Tristan fell in love a little too easily, especially considering everything they were both going through. Perhaps I\’m just being just a little too picky. And I\’m sure there are many who would easily disagree. So I\’ll leave it up to you to decide.

If you love a bit of the classic good girl goes bad, while meeting a dark, tortured hero, then this is a great book for you. This is the type of book I would read on a cold, dark night – just to get into the mood and theme. And for readers out there getting a bit sick of all the vampires, werewolves and zombies, here\’s a little fun to break up the paranormal sector.

Beth Fantaskey\’s latest is a thrilling story about when Jekel met Hyde.
