My task was to spend $200 styling a complete outfit at five different stores creating a look from one of the latest Spring/Summer 2010 trends, now that sounds like it is really easy but it\’s not. The key trends I had to choose from the Westfield Love Getting More Magazine were:
- The Maxi (dress or skirt)
- Nude & Pastels
- The Blazer
- The Romper
- Coloured Denim
- Techno digital print
What I bought
Because I\’m curvy, I chose to sacrifice my desperate want of a new pair of shoes to find a dress instead. Â I knew it was going to be hard and I had to put the bulk of my monies into the dress but I finally succeeded at Jacqui E with a lovely military inspired dress (RRP$129.95) with shades of grey and red … red is not a colour I usually wear so I loved going outside my wardrobe comfort zone.
So that meant I only had around $70 to spend on shoes and accessories and I had to purchase from four more stores!
So shoes were next on the hit list and I found a pair at Rubi Shoes, cute black patent peep toe wedges (RRP$39.95). Payless Shoes had a really gorgeous pair that I loved too but that purchase would have left me with only $10 for three more purchases and that wasn\’t going to happen, there\’s not much around for $2 these days!
Next up I ran between three stores trying to juggle the different accessories and pricing to meet the challenge of $200. I eventually settled on some bangles from Diva (RRP$9.99), a Gloss Hair Comb (RRP$3.95) and necklace from Equip (RRP$14.99) … so I had $1.17 left, phew!
And to top it all off, as a bonus, Westfield Hurstville has a great Gift With Purchase from The Body Shop!
So what\’s this all in aid of besides a spot of free shopping you ask? Well Westfield has a brilliant new job up for grabs (you can read all about the details here) called the “Westfield Insider.”
The ‘Westfield Insider\’, will be offered a 12 month position to blog and inform the online community about ‘on trend on budget\’ style, product and retail news, and lead and reward a community of shoppers through the Westfield Insider blog and Facebook page.
