Kate Waterhouse is a cover girl for the December 2010 issue for Shape Magazine, photographed by John Doughty. Kate is an enigma, firmly entrenched in Sydney’s Social Scene and coming from the Waterhouse Racing Royal Family, it’s lovely to see the local girl on the front cover in a bikini no less!
Inside the 26 year old Fashion & Style Editor of the Sun-Herald newspaper and daughter of renowned racehorse trainer Gai Waterhouse, shares that she has a newfound love for the gym where she works out twice a week with a personal trainer admitting to going through her whole life being a bit of a coach potato with a gym membership that never got used!
“I used to drink a big bottle of water and struggle to even lift that!” she confesses. “Now, I train for an hour, doing 40 minutes of weights and strength work and 20 minutes of cardio. My body has definitely toned up and I have much more strength. In that way, exercise really has changed my life.”
While admitting that “racing is in my blood,” Kate laughs at the possibility that she might one day pursue a career in racing or training, but adds, “Mum didn\’t get into racing until she was in her late 20s, so they think there\’s hope for me yet!”
