The 13th Annual Chocolate Show held in New York last week (11th-14th November), and is the “the world’s largest event dedicated to chocolate!” Opening night kicked off at the Metropolitan Pavilion on 18th Street with a fashion show featuring 14 different designers working with chocolate.
The theme was ‘saving the oceans’ so the designs had to allude to anything relating to the ocean, with one model’s ensemble carrying 20 pounds of bonbons, which, according to the emcee, were “held together by string, just like our fragile ecosystem.”
The four day chocolate expo features chocolatiers and pastry chefs from around the world, appearances by chefs, book signings, live cooking demonstrations in two culinary theaters as well as a kiddie’s zone for the young chocolate lovers.
