As I revealed yesterday with the Behind the Scenes Video, the incredibly glamboyant and an Aussie favourite of mine Ruby Rose is the Covergirl for FHM’s January 2011 issue on newsstands today (6th December).
The first openly lesbian woman to appear on FHM\’s cover, Ruby is one of Australia\’s most recognisable personalities. FHM editor Guy Mosel described Ruby as a “phenomenon”.
“It might be a just a tiny bit hyperbolic, but Ruby embodies everything that is great about women and our nation,” Guy said.
“She\’s sexy, confident, funny and dances entirely to the beat of her own drum. In a world of homogenised beauty and media-friendly soundbites, Ruby\’s a hurricane of unpredictability and untamed sexuality.
“She is, in a word: awesome.”
In a frank and entertaining interview, Ruby talks about why lesbian sex is better, her high profile relationships and who she\’d turn straight for.
On men\’s fascination with lesbians: “I think it goes back to people wanting what they can\’t have. I suppose there are so many people out there who see a lesbian couple and think that that woman is just waiting for the right man, so that helps keep that fantasy alive. ‘Maybe, if they just met me&\’”
On gay marriage: “Gay couples deserve all those things that straight couples take for granted, including marriage. And divorce! If we get the right to be married then surely we deserve that as well. Ha! Doesn\’t everyone have the right to be miserable forever?”
On who she\’d turn straight for: “The kind of guy that I think is hot, even though I wouldn\’t be able to do the deed, is Chuck Bass from Gossip Girl. I think he\’s hot. I have a lesbian\’s taste in men.”
On lesbian sex: “Lesbian sex goes for a really long time because it can practically start at dinner. It\’s a more romantic thing, and it lasts longer. And it\’s better. Clearly.”
FHM\’s January issue is on sale today, go Ruby!!
