I squealed with glee at the opportunity of an Exclusive Christmas Interview with Estée Lauder‘s newest brand ambassador Liu Wen, who recently made her official debut at the prestigious Ch’ianmen in Beijing to launch the new Pure Colour Make Up Collection with Creative Director Tom Pecheux.

In honor of Liu Wen\’s visit to China for Estée Lauder, Tom Pecheux created an exclusive limited edition collection of makeup products called Pure Color Metamorphosis for China only.

Liu Wen was announced as the new global face of Estée Lauder in April this year and is the first Chinese model the brand has signed and joins Constance Jablonski from France, Elizabeth Hurley from the UK and Carolyn Murphy and Hilary Rhoda from the United States. Already hailed as China\’s brightest fashion star, Liu Wen will appear in Estée Lauder advertising campaigns globally beginning January 2011.

“Liu Wen represents the new face of global beauty,” said Aerin Lauder, Senior Vice President, Creative Director, Estée Lauder. “We are thrilled to celebrate her official debut for Estée Lauder here in Beijing.”

And here\’s what Liu Wen had to share about the festive season and all things beauty related:

1. Where will you be spending the holiday season?

I haven\’t decided yet, but since there seems to be a lot of downtime during this season in Europe and the US, I will probably go back to China for a nice, long break.

2. How will you celebrate the holiday season?

In the eyes of Chinese people, Christmas is more of a celebration for the younger generation.  If I do get to China this holiday season, I would love to meet up and spend time with good friends.

3. What is your favorite holiday memory?

When I was very young I went to a church service for Christmas Eve.  There were so many people that I had a hard time squeezing in! It was a very western-styled Christmas that year.

4. What is the Chinese tradition over the holiday season?

In China, the younger generation enjoys celebrating the holiday season most.  As students, we would give out cards to everyone – even if this person was just someone who sat next to you in class.  Adults use this time to give their well-wishes to friends.

5. Does your family follow these traditions or do you have any specific family traditions?

For most Chinese families, Chinese New Year is given the most importance.  The way we celebrate Chinese New Year is very similar to how Christmas is celebrated in the western world – no matter how far they live, members of an entire family will gather at one home for a fancy, delicious meal, and will wish one another well.  The only major difference is that while adults will give children gifts in the form of red moneybags for Chinese New Year, they don’t really give other adults anything like people celebrating the western holidays would.

6. Are there any special foods you will enjoy over the holidays?

I generally look forward to everything, but roasted duck is always something I enjoy!

7. What is your holiday wish for others?

May we all live in a more peaceful world that’s free of economic troubles.

8. What are your favorite places to shop for gifts including online?

There is usually a lot of work just before the holiday season, so I have gotten into a habit of buying gifts at the various airports.

9. What gifts will you give to your family and friends?

I usually get my parents new clothes, and I give my friends various things that are fun or interesting from my travels.

10. What is your favorite beauty look for the holiday season?

I like to add some stronger tints of red to my makeup look, because it’s a celebratory color in China.  I’ll usually match that up with a red scarf or a pair of red gloves.

11. What fashion must-haves will you wear to holiday parties?

A warm coat with some kind of red accent, paired with a semi-formal suit or dress inside.

12. What charities will you be supporting this holiday season?

I will be supporting World Pink, which is Estée Lauder’s World Without Breast Cancer movement.  It’s an incredibly important cause – I want to see more people celebrating the holidays with their families without worrying about their health!

I’ve included some Christmas Gift ideas from Estée Lauder including; the Estée Lauder Signature Lipstick in Rich Red, Estée Lauder Coach Xmas Set (RRP $125 but valued at over $350), Estée Lauder Beautiful Romantic Destinations Xmas Set (RRP $170 but worth over $210), the Pure Color Lip Gloss by Tom Pecheux and the Estée Lauder Pure Color Eyeshadow palettes.

The Tom Pecheaux Pure Colour Collection goes on Australian counters March 27, for your nearest Estée Lauder stockist or further information visit www.esteelauder.com.au.
