In the late afternoon in Denmark HRH Crown Princess Mary, Crown Prince Frederik and their newborn twins have finally left Rigshospitalet and we got our first glimpse of them as they slept through the cheering crowd of media attention and well wishers (4pm Friday 14th January local time /2am Saturday 15th January AEDT).
Crown Princess Mary was holding the twin boy, while Crown Prince Frederik held the twin girl who are fourth and fifth in line to the oldest European throne.
She said she was “so proud and so happy” of her “laid-back” twins.
When asked how she would handle four young children, Princess Mary said: “I don’t know but I will do my best.”
On the topic of any further children, the Princess laughed, saying “We have our hands full right now.”
But Princess Mary said they hoped to bring the twins to Australia soon:Â “We don’t have complete plans arranged just yet but hopefully it is not too far away,” she said of a possible visit. “We look forward to introducing them to our friends and family back home.”
Their other children Prince Christian, 5, and Princess Isabella, 3, were waiting for their return at home at Amalienborg Palace.
Now we have to wait for to find out their names, which will be decided by their parents and will not be revealed until Princess Mary announces them at the christening in three to four months time.
Mary also sent her heart felt sympathies for everyone that has been affected by the floods here in Australia.
