Emily Didonato & Maybelline NY Baby Lips Lip Balm Review

| 28 January , 2011 | 2 Replies

Maybelline NY have recently released four Lip Balms for baby soft lips; Baby Lips Lip Balm with Emily Didonato fronting their campaign.

The new lip balm range comes in four unique formulas and fragrances to help give you baby soft lips with SPF 20 and Botanical Cellular Repair Concentrate, they say will moisturise your lips for a full 8hrs and decrease fine lines.

The four yummy flavours are:

  • Baby Lips Energising Orange – moisture and hydration
  • Baby Lips Smoothing Cherry – intense moistures and smoothing
  • Baby Lips Menthol – medicated for repair
  • Baby Lips Anti-Oxidant Berry – protection

REVIEW:

Being the lip balm queen that I am, I will keep topping up, it won’t last 8hrs, that’s a big call but I don’t know what it’s like not to use lip balm every 10 minutes.  The balm coats your lips in a soft wax, with yummy fragrances that don’t translate to your lips and wanting to lick the balm off. The packaging is in Korean or Japanese so I can’t read the ingredients, but what I do know is that menthol is not good for our lips, it drys them out.  They are non-greasy and add a tiny shine to your lips when you first put them on and there’s no colour, just clear.

Maybelline NY Baby Lips are on counters now nationally and are available at pharmacies, supermarkets and independent & variety stores for RRP $3.95. It’s a steal for the beach (except the menthol) with the SPF20!

It’s a cheap option to purchase but I personally love my Antipodes Organic Lip Balm but am not sure where you are located. This is the UK site, but if you let me know where you’re located I can see if it’s available where you are: http://antipodesuk.com/antipodes/antipodes-lime-leaf-cocoa-butter-lip-balm-certified-organic.html
I totally recommend this balm, I don’t go anywhere without it.
