NEWS ALERT: Shopping in the US & Shipping to Australia just got easier with USA Shopping Affair

Package forwarding companies are nothing new for us Aussies who love to shop at our favourite US online stores, but it has now gotten that much easier and with the strong Aussie Dollar against the Greenback ($1.05 at the moment) and Charmaine Graham’s new service USA Shopping Affair.

The Australian owned and operated package forwarding company, will launch in April and will enable Australian online shoppers to buy from multiple USA retailers without the expense of getting their goods home.

Charmaine said she set up the business after being repeatedly disappointed by US retailers not shipping overseas and by the exorbitant cost of getting things sent back to Australia.

“Online shoppers buy from the USA for two main reasons – firstly because they can often buy things cheaper due to the strong Australian dollar, and American retailers operate in a very competitive market, and secondly because they can find unique styles not available here due to the US being ahead of Australia in many of the fashion trends,” she said.

“While there are a lot of companies based in the US offering package forwarding services, none are coordinated from Australia consolidating multiple client purchases to enable discounted shipping. USA Shopping Affair facilitates a ‘collective buying power\’ that an individual would not normally have access to and the result is a shipping option that offers online shoppers even more incentive to snap up bargains from the US.” (via)

With a super easy three step process and reasonable shipping rates (starting at A$15 for 500g) for combined purchases that all go to an allocated storage unit located within their USA distribution warehouse, this is sure to create more angst among our local retailers.

As I’ve been saying for the longest time, we now live in a global village and I’ve been flying and shopping to the US for years doing just this, now doing it from our armchairs is that much easier and as daggy as it sounds, shopping at Walmart is awesome!
