There were no jumping kangaroos or cuddly koalas. There weren\’t a hundred million choppers circling the Harbour Bridge to get tourism-perfect shots of Sydney Opera House except for the promo shots below featuring the duo!
The TV show was all about fashion and style. There were real women in daggy tracksuits and oversizes t-shirts. And then there were Trinny and Susannah in their purest, honest and most brutal form.
The stylish British duo sprinted down food courts, shopping centres and even a barefoot Bowl’s club to revamp women from Australia’s ‘fashion’ wall of shame.
In Trinny & Susannah’s Australian Makeover Mission, premiering on LifestyleYOU tonight, the style gurus teach women the basics of personal style. They aren’t afraid to grab women’s breasts in the middle of a supermarket, neither are they worried about discussing others’ sex lives. They transform the style-challenged, every day people into looking like people off the runway.
Trinny and Susannah aren’t about maintaining the perfect body or losing weight to look like a million dollars. They believe that clothes are made to fit you and not the other way around. The ladies know how to emphasise the waist and camouflage big calves, with only an accessory. No one dares to whisper when they match a bright pink dress with a blood orange jacket. There are tears and raised voices, when 40-year olds are told that they dress like a fresh university student. But there’s no denying on T&S’ ability to ease an ongoing fashion disaster.
The style masters take over Sydney and Canberra in the first two episodes of the six-week long series, filmed in Australia. From ill-fitted corporate wear to oversized beach outfits, no one’s spared from the harsh and honest makeovers. Every contestant has an emotional story to back up their fashion crime. The tears are sure to stream down your face when you watch a woman, living in an abusive marriage or recovering from a sudden death of her husband, strut down the runway in shiny stilettos and oozing confidence.
Accompanying the wardrobe makeover team is Australia’s well-accomplished fashion stylist Sophie Hart. Napoleon Perdis‘ make-up team took over the beautiful faces while Sydney’s favourite hairstylist Brad Ngata was involved in the hair transformation and direction team.
This show is minus the tourism bullshit and all about moral boosting transformations. It is about pampering a woman with a deserving makeover. Apart from the regular giggling, it brought several tears to my eyes. This six-part fast paced show is a must-watch, ladies.
