It\’s time to hit the stylish sofa, MTV\’s new series devoted to Style, Fashion and Music and hosted by the loveable MTV VJ Ruby Rose, “MTV Style” premieres tonight (April 12th).

Ruby has been busy traipsing around Australia, New York and Tokyo, searching for new trends, fashion fads and striking styles from the catwalks to the street.

Ruby gained special access to fashion and music\’s elite at some of this year\’s hottest fashion events, exhibitions and celebrity parties including special guests Mark Ronson, Usher, Alexis Jordan, Eve and Jacob & Co to get the low down on their personal style influencers.  As a preview we saw Ruby on the black carpet at G-Star\’s show for New York Fashion Week.

Talking about style influencers, I decided to think about who my style is influenced by, I\’m a bit of a classic dresser (as you can I love my Roland Moulet dress I\’m always wearing), I love feminine clothes that are stylish and of course loving the comeback of lady-like dressing on the back of the Mad Men trend.  Locally I love the style of Cate Blanchett, Sarah Murdoch and Jennifer Hawkins. They are on-trend for their particular age group but always look incredibly stylish, dressing for their shapes and personalities, Cate in particular never puts a stylish foot wrong well may be once, that Romance Was Born crochet number didn\’t go down too well but it\’s great to see that Cate can be human too with her style choices.  Today there is style inspiration everywhere, we don\’t need to look far anymore.

Check out the preview video of MTV Style with Ruby, I\’ve seen the first two episodes and they rock, I wanted to see the whole series right then and there:

MTV Style, an 8 part weekly half-hour series, will premiere on MTV – channel 124 – today, Tuesday April 12thl at 9:30pm AEDT, visit for more information.
