We finally got to experience the much anticipated Royal Wedding ofÂ Prince William and Kate Middleton who are now bethrothed and known as the HRH Duke & Duchess of Cambridge.
It was such a beautiful ceremony and, as everyone suspected,, Kate wore an Alexander McQueen dress designed by Sarah Burton, matched with a vintage Cartier tiara from 1936, borrowed from the Queen.

Miss Middleton chose British brand Alexander McQueen for the beauty of its craftsmanship and its respect for traditional workmanship and the technical construction of clothing.Â Miss Middleton wished for her dress to combine tradition and modernity with the artistic vision that characterises Alexander McQueen\’s work.Â Miss Middleton worked closely with Sarah Burton in formulating the design of her dress.
The dress was made with hand-cut English lace and French Chantilly lace throughout the bodice and skirt, and underskirt trim.Â The dress is made with ivory and white satin gazar.Â The skirt echoes an opening flower, with white satin gazar arches and pleats.Â The train measures two metres 70 centimetres.
Kate wore earrings by Robinson Pelham, shoes hand-made by the team at Alexander McQueen. Her bouquet included the following flowers:
- Lily-of-the-valley â€“ Return of happiness
- Sweet William â€“ Gallantry
- Hyacinth â€“ Constancy of love
- Ivy – Fidelity, marriage, wedded love, friendship, affection
- Myrtle – the emblem of marriage; love
Kate’s Maid of Honour and sister, Pippa Middleton, also wore an Alexander McQueen dress designed by Sarah Burton.
Kate’s new husband, William looked so handsome in his uniform and Prince Harry also scrubbed up smartly in his.
The Royal Kiss – there were two – was the most anticipated kiss in the world and they didn’t let us down … 2.5 billion people watching, they were perfectly effortless throughout the ceremony, both born to be where they are right now. They left the world in such a wonderful feeling.
