Marie Claire’s July 2011 issue is a special issue, it has Project Runway Australia host Megan Gale gracing the cover in glamboyant red dress by Alex Perry for the very first time, photographed by renowned photographers Harold David and David Gubert.
The Red Dress issue has joined forces with the Heart Foundation to raise awareness about heart disease, the biggest killer of women in Australia, and joining forces we see a host of celebrities and fashion designers contributing to make this a very special issue.
Megan shares: “It\’s critical that we do whatever possible to bring heart disease â€“ and the things we can do to prevent it – to the forefront of women\’s minds. Our lives depend on it.”
The Red Dress campaign ambassadors all feature in a stunning11-page reportage story in the July issue of marie claire. The celebrities showed their support for the cause by wearing gorgeous red dresses designed exclusively by Australia\’s leading fashion designers, including; Alex Perry, Dion Lee, Collette Dinnigan, Ellery, Willow, Lisa Ho and Ginger & Smart.
In celebration of the 2011 â€˜Red Dress\’ July issue, and the marie claire Red Dress campaign, marie claire\’s Editor and Publisher, Jackie Frank will also open the doors to her home for a star-studded red themed soirÃ©e.

In addition, launching on 7TWO on Sunday 12 June at 6.30pm, maire claire Under The Cover will be presented as a fly-on-the-wall documentary series, allowing viewers an intimate audience with Editor/Publisher, Jackie Frank, and unprecedented access to the fast-paced world of the magazine.
The production of the Red Dress cover has been shot as part of an upcoming episode of the documentary and I’ll have some more info on the the new program next week.
The one-off red dresses will be auctioned off with all proceeds going to the Heart Foundation, they can be viewed and purchased online at www.marieclaire.com.au from June 1st with the July issue also on newsstands Wednesday June 1st.
