J.K. Rowling has finally revealed her new venture for the continuation of the magical world of Harry Potter, Pottermore, an interactive online website that will allow readers to navigate through the wizard stories.Â The author says the project is a “thank you” to her dedicated fans, and will allow them to build their own interactive experiences.
Announcing the launch of Pottermore on her official website, J.K. Rowling said,
“The digital generation will be able to enjoy a safe, unique reading experience built around the Harry Potter books. Pottermore will be the place where fans of any age can share, participate in and re-discover the stories”.
Users can register for the online challenge from today and those selected will gain entry to the site on Potter\’s birthday, 31st July 2011. Users will be able to play games, add comments, mix potions and interact with other characters as they move through various stories.
Rowling confirmed the game will contain unpublished Harry Potter literary material, saying,
“I\’ll be sharing additional information I\’ve been hoarding for years about the world of Harry Potter“.
Rowling\’s Pottermore site will also be used to sell Harry Potter books, as well as a new series of eBooks and audio books in several languages from October 2012. She published the final Harry Potter book in 2007, selling 11 million copies on the first day alone.
