Directed by: Denis Dugan
Starring: Adam Sandler, Jennifer Aniston, Brooklyn Decker, Nicole Kidman
Sassi Rating: 3/5

When established plastic surgeon and serial playboy Danny Maccabee (Adam Sandler) meets much younger girl of his dreams (Brooklyn Decker) he convinces co-worker Katherine (Jennifer Aniston) to pretend to be his soon to be ex-wife in a bid to extricate himself from the web of lies he spun in order to pick her up.

At the film release a lot of critics made a big deal out of the fact that this was a lesser re-imagining of the award winning Cactus Flower (1969) but I don\’t think that will matter too much to Just Go with It\’s at home audience.

Just Go with It is typical Sandler fare. It\’s not his best film but it\’s far from his worst as well. There are a lot of genuine laughs which does include the usual slapstick and crass humour. If that\’s really not your thing then beware but in all fairness there is a considerably lower quota of toilet humour then you would normally expect to find in one of his films.

Jennifer Aniston is great playing Katherine; warm, beautiful, and completely in her element as the rom-com golden girl. She\’s good on screen with Sandler and despite how mismatched they might seem they do succeed in creating just the right amount of sentiment. Victoria\’s Secret model Decker is surprisingly good in her first big screen role playing the apple-pie perfect woman, and Kidman is adorable as Katherine\’s college nemesis Devlin.

All in all Just Go with It is a good DVD option for a fun night in. A fast paced escapade through LA and Hawaii there are so many plot twists that it can sometimes be a little hard to follow. But if you relax and just go with it then Just Go with It is a film you will absolutely enjoy.

Just Go with It is released on DVD August 3rd.
