Monotone eyes are out! Been watching the catwalks lately? It\’s all about bold and playful looks and Max Factor has come out with two new products to help the average girl on her way out the door on a Saturday night.

The new Liquid Effect Pencil Eye Liner incorporates the simplicity and easy application of the pencil and the wet, dramatic and lasting effect of liquid liner. The highly pigmented waterproof formula allows you to play with a variety of looks and the sponge tip applicator allows for easy smudging into the lash line. It can also be sharpened with ease. I tried the brown blaze, and although the colour was a little light for my taste, the texture of the formula is perfect for creating a smoky eye or a dramatic defined look. The Liquid Effect comes in; Black Fire, Brown Blaze, Violet Voltage, Lilac Flame, Silver Spark and Green Glow.

Along with the launch of the Liquid Effect Pencil Eye Liner, Max factor is introducing two new shades of Smokey Eye Effect Eyeshadow. It features a double ended applicator, each end with a different tip shape; one round to first apply a lighter shade on the lid and then a tapered tipped to apply the darker accent and create a dramatic finish. Although this is an innovative product, the texture is a little too wet and doesn\’t cling well to the lids. Patience and care must be used with this one and you\’ll probably have to touch up throughout the night!  The two new colours include; Pink Plume in Maroon and Pink and Blue Tempest in Electric Blue and Light Blue.

Max Factor Liquid Effect Pencil Eye Liner RRP $18.95 and Max Factor Smokey Eye Effect Eyeshadow RRP $21.95 are available now, call 1800 181 040 for your nearest stockist or visit their website:

I don’t have mine with me right now so can’t have a look at them … doesn’t it just continue to scroll up as you use it? Sorry I can’t be more helpful at this time, when I find mine I can have a look for you but I will ask Max Factor as well for their thoughts.

omg, seriously… how to sharpen this thing? Its plastic. Doesn’t work with a normal sharpener.

Can you give me a hint about how to sharpen the eyeliner?! mystery! thanks.

  4. Sassi Sam says:

That’s a shame that it did that after a short period of time, they don’t promote it as long lasting. Have you tried it with something like Benefit’s Stay Don’t Stray underneath?

Initially I thought this was great. Easy to apply for a professional look, and very effective. However when I looked in the mirror a couple of hours later it had all gone horribly wrong. I think the product is too soft and it creases and runs if you get warm.
