Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Sydney (MBFFS) turned Sydney City into a catwalk yesterday morning (August 17th) when city commuters were treated to a live fashion shoot, on the steps of Town Hall courtesy of Harper\’s BAZAAR and Myer.

The fashion extravaganza treated passersby to an exclusive preview of the glamour that is MBFFS. Gorgeous models in floor skimming gowns from Australian designer Toni Maticevski set atop a backdrop of draped fabric, adorned the Town Hall steps to create the memorable fashion moment.

“We wanted to create a couture moment for the public, with all the glamour of a high fashion magazine shoot,” says Harper\’s BAZAAR Editor, Edwina McCann.

Renowned stylist Peter Simon Phillips created the look for the shoot. “I was inspired by the make shift photo sets of Peter Lindbergh, and used the textured fabric and dark greys of the city to form the backdrop to showcase the Maticevski gowns.”

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Sydney kicks off next Tuesday 23rd August and runs through to Saturday 27th August, at Sydney\’s Town Hall. To get your first look at the Spring/Summer collections for 2011/12 as they land in-store, go to and secure your seats. Tickets start at $25.
