Underbelly Razor Takes us Back in Time to Sydney’s Dark Past

Underbelly Razor is an ambitious drama set in the 1920’s of Sydney, a time when brothels and sly grog shops flourished and gangs of thugs slashed their opposition into silence until the streets ran with blood.

Yes the fourth series of Underbelly takes us back in time to the 1920’s exploring the story of the ladies who ruled the Sydney crime scene; brothel madam Tilly Devine (Chelsie Preston Crayford) and alcohol and drugs dealer Kate Leigh (Danielle Cormack).

In the 1920s and 1930s it was the turn of the “razor gangs” of inner city Sydney to dominate the streets and grab the headlines. For a time Darlinghurst became known as “Razorhurst”. Based on the true story as documented in Larry Writer’s book Razor, Kate Leigh was the undisputed crime queen of Sydney … and then along came Tilly Devine and we have 13 episodes to look forward.
