How to Look After Your Skin with Supermarket Budget Products

| 29 August , 2011 | Reply

They say less is more and ‘they\’ would be correct. You don\’t need a whole heap of products to keep your skin clean and looking healthy, so let\’s cut down to the cult basics, with bargain supermarket purchases.

Cleanser

Everybody needs to cleanse, though preferably not with just water. I don\’t know about you, but after just washing my face with water and then actually using a cleanser, I noticed a massive difference. Your skin gets a tingly sensation (in a good way) and is left all plump and smooth.

There are lots of cleansers on the market but it is important for you to pick one that\’s right for your skin type, be in dry, combination, oily or normal.

Cream cleansers tend to be the best for people with dry skin (pretty much all of us in the Winter). Try Neutrogena\’s Deep Clean Cream Cleanser or Aveeno\’s Ultra-Calming Moisturizing Cream Cleanser for a gentle cleanse that will improve your complexion.

For oily skin, look for a more gel or liquid based cleanser that is oil-free and won\’t clog pores. Try Clean & Clear\’s Self-Foaming Facial Wash or Morning Burst Cleanser for a light cleanse that will leave your skin soft and supple.

Toner

Often skipped by many but a good step if you want to ensure the remnants of cleanser are taken care of! Any traces may clog your pores, resulting in imperfections and breakouts. Try Clean & Clear Oil-Control Toner.

Moisturiser

Always, always use sunscreen. Whether it\’s rain or shine, those bugger UV rays will still find a way to penetrate. There are products that have integrated moisturisers with some SPF content, shooting two birds with one stone! Don\’t be caught unguarded, try Neutrogena Healthy Defence Daily Moisturiser SPF 30+ or Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturiser SPF 15.

For those without any SPF content, just add in a layer of sunscreen beforehand. Try Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen Lotion 30+.

Exfoliator

Dead skin cells aren\’t your friends, no matter what they, the dead skin cells, may say. If not attacked, they can result in blackheads and pimples. Exfoliate your skin two to three times a week to keep that dermis smooth and clogged-free. Try Clean & Clear Deep Action In-Shower Facial or Aveeno Skin Brightening Daily Scrub.

Now you have no excuses with these basic steps to taking care of your skin on a budget.
