Tiah Eckhardt is returns as the face of The Strand Arcade’s Spring/Summer 2011 Campaign titled “Enchanted Garden” and I have the first look at their campaign and exclusive behind the scenes images from the photoshoot.
Through an eclectic mix of the Victorian-era and the fantasy world, the Spring Summer campaign sees a focus on five key looks and themes in fashion; spring racing, evening wear, day wear, work wear and summer holiday.
The new campaign embraces the romanticism of a Victorian fairytale, continuing the story of past campaigns. Fashion forward images, inspired by the new season\’s colours, set the scene for the theme of the campaign: Enchanted Garden.
“The concept for Spring Summer was inspired by the idea of a Victorian fairytale garden, bringing back the dreamlike notion of princesses, magic & fantasy in the world of designer fashion.
There is always a bit of a Victorian twist; this time a kaleidoscope of butterflies [Ed’s Note: inspired by the iconic image of the blue butterflies on a tree], a Borzoi and a freshly caught ocean trout to set the scene – it\’s subtle yet still a defining characteristic I like to incorporate into the campaign shoot.” – Caroline Poiner – Creative Director PDC Creative
The photoshoot was set with a blooming backdrop of a fairytale garden and conservatory. With a lush abundance of flowers and creatures, the shoot was styled to evoke a sense of enchantment whilst staying true to the uniquely quirky character of The Strand Arcade\’s personality.
The stunning Spring Summer 2011 campaign showcases the designs of some of the most sought after designers available at The Strand Arcade including; Jayson Brunsdon, Alex Perry, Ms Couture, Akira, Anaessia with shoes by Terry Biviano.
Designer Akira says of his new season\’s collection at The Strand Arcade:
“This collection reflects my most recent project – designing costumes for the upcoming production of “Romeo and Juliet” for The Australian Ballet. It speaks of darkness and romanticism, and within the darkness, there is a subtle light. It can express the very nature of the moon, shimmering in the night sky. The colours I selected for the collection were inspired by the subtlety and ambiguous nature of the moon.
