Reese Witherspoon is US Marie Claire’s “Pretty in Pink” Cover Girl for their October 2011 issue. Photographed by Tesh and styled by Alison Edmond, the inside editorial is titled “The Reinvention of Reese” and was photographed in Russia when Reese was there for her Avon 125th Anniversary Tour.
Inside Reese shares:
On her fears:Â “I’m scared to speak in public. I’m really nervous about it. It’s weird, because on a movie set, I’m fine. But I get really nervous in front of crowds&I used to not ever travel. I’ve gotten over so many phobias. Five years ago, I was terrified to travel. I was scared to leave my kids. It’s still not the best feeling.”
On confidence: “I always had a lot of confidence when I was younger, and then I think I got a little nervous in my 20s, but now I feel better. Now I’m in my 30s, totally better. A little more confident again. Not as scared.”
On her big break in the film ‘The Man in the Moon’: “I just went in to be an extra and they asked me to read some lines,” she says. She landed the lead role. Still, she says, “I thought I was going to make a movie and never do it again. I thought I would probably just go to college and be a doctor.”
