Director: Mark Mylod
Starring: Anna Faris, Chris Evans, Blythe Danner, Ari Graynor
Sassi’s Star Rating:Â It gets you thinking about YOUR number! 4.5 / 5
Ally Darling (Faris) realises after reading an article in Marie Claire that she may be reaching a high number of bedfellows that will affect her ability to find true love. The ‘What\’s your number?\’ article spurs a life challenge where Ally enlists the assistance of a very cute neighbour, Colin (Evans) to track down all of her exes, just in case she missed ‘the one\’. Faris is hilarious in this film bringing a brilliant comedic performance that, whilst over the top in parts, is just too funny not to enjoy it.
This film highlights the pressure to conform to some ideal partnership and flirts with the idea that we can control it all by sticking to the numbers. The pressure is on as her sister\’s (Graynor) marriage approaches and their mother (Danner) continues on her quest to have her daughters married off to appropriate suitors. Lessons are learnt and many a laugh is had by all as it progresses. There were so many LOL moments and I could hear the guys having a giggle as well.
Ladies, grab your GFs and go see this one because it will have you in stitches. It is surprising in parts and very well put together with lots of relatable moments for those of us that have lived our fair share of singledom and been in search of that special person. I don\’t do it often, but I reckon I will be off to see this one again. Don\’t forget to check out Faris\’ real life hubby in this film, famous for his role in Parks and Recreation – Mr. Chris Pratt.
Go check out Ally Darling\’s adventure as she searches for the best ex of her life!
