BarbieÂ® Kicks off her Birthday with Samantha Downie by Turning the Iconic Number 16 Melbourne Tram Hot Pink
BarbieÂ® has given the Number 16 Melbourne Tram a very hot pink facelift as revealed today (March 9th) byÂ Samantha Downie wearing a Toni Maticevski gown in pink of course to launch the style icon’s birthday celebrations for 2012.
The BarbieÂ® tram is being launched as part of a new global brand campaign that celebrates the â€˜wow\’ girls experience when they play with Barbie. For more than 50 years BarbieÂ® has been accessorising imaginations by inspiring girls to â€˜try on\’ different roles and encouraging them to play out their dreams.
“Melbourne is so fashion focused this month, and combined with Barbie\’s birthday and the launch of the new global brand campaign, we thought it was the perfect time to dress up one of our city\’s icons â€“ a Melbourne tramâ€“ in true BarbieÂ® style!” explained MattelÂ® Senior Brand Manager for Barbie, Kate Carroll.
“BarbieÂ® is putting the pink into PT and we are looking forward to seeing the WOW! reactions from Melbournians as they step through the sparkly pink doors of the tram and inside the fantastical wardrobe of BarbieÂ®!”
Step through the sparkly doors and inside her fantastical wardrobe, complete with iconic outfits and career paths that have been accessorising imaginations for more than five decades. Sydneysiders will be invited to board the bright pink BarbieÂ® bus in early September.
Also expect to see The BarbieÂ® Dream Closet which will launch at an exclusive VIP event in Sydney in April, followed by a series of public events at Westfield centres in NSW, VIC and QLD during school holiday periods from April through to September.
