A couple of weeks ago, I attended the “Weddings by Luke Mangan” Open Day at the Sydney Hilton\’s glass brasserie. With Luke cooking, I obviously knew the food was going to be exceptional, but as a bride-to-be who\’s barely opened a bridal magazine, let alone attended any type of bridal expo/open day I wasn\’t quite sure what else to expect.
However, the moment my bridesmaid and I walked in and heard the string duet playing, were offered a glass of sparkling and some delicious samples by PlanetCake, I knew we were in for a treat. We were then given a small canvas to use as an inspiration board so we could pin polaroids, business cards and other bits and pieces we picked up along the way that took our fancy. Nice touch, right?
Throughout the morning we continued to be spoilt with delicious canapes while being guided through glass brasserie with its chic finishings and stunning views of the city. We also met some wonderful wedding suppliers (see full list below) which included everything from gowns and cakes to photographers, hair and make up artists, a days spa, diamonds, hire cars, wedding planners and more.
I caught up with Luke on the day, who in discussing the best reasons to have a wedding at glass brasserie said, “The space is gorgeous, the food\’s going to be amazing and the service even better.”
And when it comes to planning wedding food, Luke offered the following advice to couples considering glass brasserie:
“Well you know I think they\’ve got so much to worry about on the day, so I guess it\’s up to me to worry about the rest of it. And I guess just keeping it simple, I don\’t think you want too complicated food, but I guess we\’re here for whatever they want. So if they want some grilled fish with green beans and a salad then we\’ll give it to them.”
The super friendly staff at The Hilton also provided tours to other areas of the hotel including Zeta Bar, Marble Bar and the hotel\’s modern rooms and suites.
And if the open day was anything to go by, Weddings by Luke Mangan at glass brasserie sure are bound to be a tres special affair!
