Bonnie wee Scotland is set on fire by the adventures of redheaded Princess Merida. Trying to escape the forced betrothal her mother insists on, Merida embarks on a quest to change her life.

Superb animation brings a cast of Scotsmen to the big screen in Disney and Pixar’s new animated feature, Brave. Besides telling a great story, Brave also explores the relationship between mothers and daughters.

Kelly Macdonald plays the fiery Princess Merida. High spirited and with a warrior’s heart, the princess takes after her battle-minded father King Fergus (Billy Connolly), much to her mother’s dismay. But Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson) is determined to make Merida a demur princess, though her daughter has other plans.

All Merida wants in life is to ride her greatly named horse Angus, and practice her archery. When neighboring clans come for a competition to win Merida’s hand in marriage, Merida finds a desperate way to change her fate. What ensues is a magical tale filled with plenty of laughs, rich characters, and beautiful scenery, ensuring this animated film to be a hit for all ages.
