Well you can with the release of the second designer art-inspired luxe scarf collection collaboration between concept label Bay & Fyfe and artist Daimon Downey (ex-Sneaky Sound System before he picked up the paint brush full time). The first creative collaboration between the two produced a stunning series of edgy silk scarves titled “Pastel Zoo” who were immediately picked up and worn by Miranda Kerr, Nicole Kidman, and the Minogue sisters Kylie and Dannii.
The second collection titled ‘Off the Mantel’ is a uni-sex collection and features a distinctive signature Downey print, available in three limited edition colour ways. The scarves are made from very finely woven wool and have a slouchy, comfortable feel to them, for everyday wear.
The art featured on the scarves is from Downey’s Mental Bridges series and has a stand-out sculptural motif that’s screen printed across the fabric to create bright, bold colour combinations when worn.
If you haven’t heard of Bay & Fyfe, they are a new concept label based in Sydney that launched at the beginning of 2012 with Downey as their first collaborative artist. They collaborate with artists to create pieces of art-inspired fashion that people will treasure. Downey works with high profile clients such as Miranda Darling, renowned architect Nick Tobias, along with fashion siblings Camilla and Marc Freeman. Westfield recently purchased a number of his works for their flag ship store in Pitt Street, Sydney and he held his first international exhibition in New York last year.
Each design is limited to 200 pieces, is 205cm long x 68cm wide and RRP$169.
The ‘Off the Mantel’ collection is available online now at www.bayandfyfe.com and in selected boutiques.
