Yves Saint Laurent are releasing a new fragrance, “Manifesto” with Jessica Chastain as the face of the campaign intending to celebrate YSL’s modernity, audacity and youthfulness alongside their signature fragrance Opium (first launched in 1977) shares WWD.
Manifesto’s juice was created by International Flavors & Fragrances perfumers Anne Flipo and Loc Dong, and described as a woody floriental, including notes of jasmine, white corollas, lily of the valley, blackcurrant, vanilla, tonka bean and cedar- and sandalwood.
The print campaign featuring Jessica Chastain sees her with hands coated in paint (looking like elegant gloves) as photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. YSL also signed on Nicolas Winding Refn for the film campaign.
The fragrance’s bottle design is intended to be luxurious and mixes curvaceous and linear forms. The amethyst-hued central section could call to mind a diamond-cut jewel or belt with the colour described as the colour of absolute seduction for Mr Saint Laurent.
We can expect Manifesto on our counters sometime in early 2013 …
