Round up of What’s New from Garnier From Top to Toe

When you’re zipping through the supermarket beauty aisle, it’s quite often hard to go past the brightly coloured, entirely alluring Garnier products. They have recently released a bunch of new products to keep you looking good from top to toe, so we thought we’d give you a quick round up on what’s out now.

Starting from the top: your hair. The new Garnier Sleek and Shine 24H range is perfect for even the most untameable, unruly mane. The range is designed to smooth and soften your hair and keep it that way. The range includes Blow Dry Perfector Straightening Balm, a lightweight, non-greasy cream. The Flat Iron Protector Straightening Mist seals the hair follicle, and protects it from the drying affects of heat styling to leave it lustrous and shiny.

If 24hrs is just not long enough, the Sleek and Shine 72H range packs an additional, long-lasting punch with brand new Phyto-Keratine technology. This range is perfect for fighting the summer humidity and will keep your do sleek and shiny for up to 72hrs. This range includes the Fortifying Serum (RRP $7.95) to protect from heat styling. We love that it is silicone-free and it makes a lovely final step to any sleek and soft style. The Miraculous Oil (RRP $7.95) provides concentrated nourishment to your battered locks and offers just a little extra protection before heat styling.  Most importantly, the range contains two shampoos and conditioners (RRP $5.95 each). There’s a range for every hair type: normal to fine, to infiltrate the damaged hair fibres and heal it from within, and thick and dry hair which contains Argan oil to tame and smooth your strands.

For your face, the Dark Spot Corrector (RRP$16.95) is a fix all product for glowing skin. Stubborn dark marks, from acne scarring or the wear and tear of the sun is one of the most common areas of distress for women. The daily moisturiser is designed to battle dark spots with a high dosage of Vitamin C to break down clusters of pigmentation.

However, there have been concerns about the high levels of potassium hydroxide as well as included parabens in the long list of ingredients. It is believed that the levels of chemicals can cause irritations and breakouts, feeding the vicious cycle of acne scarring and dark spots. However, it has also been pointed out that the levels of Vitamin C in the product is enough to be incredibly effective in lightening dark spots. The jury’s out on this one and it all comes down to personal preference about chemicals and cosmetics.

Of course, no Garnier roundup would be complete without mentioning their most talked-about product: the BB Cream. First popularised in Asian markets, Garnier’s original BB cream, released last year, took Australia by storm. The only complaint they received is that the result was often too shiny for some skin types. Now, they have responded with a new variant made just for women with oily and combination skin.

Garnier BB Cream Oil Free (RRP $13.95) is a lovely, lightweight and matte solution. It instantly reduces pores, imperfections and evens out skin tone while moisturising and enriching your skin. It’s perfect for day time wear, either on its own or under foundation, with SPF 15 UV protection. Available in 2 shades, Light or Medium.

For the rest of your body, the new Intensive Seven Days Gel-Lotions (RRP $6.95) are a wonderful addition to your bathroom counter. Many women complain that full body moisturising is a time consuming and annoying process and skip the step altogether. Garnier responded to this concern with a new quick dry, gel formula as a practical, effective solution for the busy woman on the go.The secret ingredient is L-Bifidus, a deeply moisturising, anti-evaporation ingredient. It ensures that the formula is instantly absorbed into your skin so you can get on with your day, with nourished, hydrated and soothed skin. The formula is so lovely – lightweight, non-sticky and as promised, incredibly quick to dry. The days of standing around in your towel, waiting for your skin to dry are over. The lotion comes in two variants: one with Peach Extract for Dry and Sensitive Skin, and the other with Grape Extract for Dry Skin.
