Jennifer Aniston Covers Marie Claire Australia’s November 2012 Issue, Discussing Why We’re Obsessed With Her

Jennifer Aniston covers Marie Claire Australia’s November 2012 issue and I’m always a sucker for Ms Aniston, next to Gwyneth Paltrow they are my two favourite Hollywood celebs.  Looking her usual fresh and fancy free self on the cover, the new issue is available on newsstands today.

Inside, they discuss the topic of “The Jen Effect” why we’re all obsessed with her (no interview) with Professor Catharine Lumby, director of the Journalism and Media Research Centre at UNSW, sharing the following nuggets for us to think about:.

“I think we use celebrities like they are mythological gods, and the fascination with them is that people are able to project their own fears, hopes and desires onto these people.”

“I think there’s still somehow this mythology that the only way for a woman to be fulfilled is to get the guy and settle down and have children.

“We don’t so much want a happy ending for Aniston as desperately need one. We need to be reassured that things will turn out all right for all of us, like a modern-day Cinderella story, but with a wedding ring and maternity bra at the end of it, because really, her fairytale is the fairytale we all secretly long for.

For more you can read the rest of the story at Marie Claire’s website.
