After Clinique did a survey of women aged 16-64, they realised that pigmentation and stubborn dark spots was third greatest skin concern for all women. To wage war against the issue, they released the Even Better Clinical range to even out, soften and brighten your skin tone.
The star of the range is the Dark Spot Corrector, a gentle and non-irritating serum designed to brighten your skin and banish hyperpigmentation, acne scarring and age spots. The core ingredients break up the appearance of existing pigmentation clusters on the skin, and with gentle exfoliation, they will be forced away, to reveal smoother, brighter skin. The formua is based on new plant-dervied technology include a potent Vitamin C derivative, known to help reduce the appearance of existing dark spots. The jury is still out on the effectiveness of this product, with suggestions that the ingredients have not been thoroughly researched and tested to prove their effectiveness. It will certainly do no harm, and many may see a lightening effect. Available in 2 sizes 30ml (RRP $92) and 50ml (RRP $129).
The Skin Tone Correcting Lotion SPF 15 (RRP $90) is a lightweight moisturiser designed specifically for oily and combination skin. The most important factor in preventing long-term scarring and dark spots is sun protection, and the added SPF is crucial in breaking through the skin’s barrier to guard against UVA and UVB rays. The lotion, despite feeling non-greasy, does leave your face with a soft sheen, but it can be overcome by layering makeup, or even translucent powder of the top.
The newest addition to the Even Better range includes the Dark Circle Corrector (RRP $50.00). Dark circles are an area of great angst for many women, and many choose to cover them with concealer rather than attempt to treat them. The product helps to maintain the delicate skin’s naturally collagen, as well as visibly lighten the eye area over time. Using Vitamin C and Mulberry Root to brighten as well as Caffeine and Green Tea to sooth irritation, the product promises long-term results. For instant gratification however, the product uses a blend of light capturing optics that give an immediate boost to the skin’s natural tone, making you appear immediately more alert.
The new additions also include a Dark Spot Correct Hand Cream (RRP $60.00). So many people overlook their hands in their daily sun protection routines, and so they are often the first to show the signs of aging. The product is both deeply hydrating and restorative to tired and neglected hands. Penetrating deep into the surface of the skin, the cocktail of ingredients diminish the appearance of age spots, while gentle exfoliators help with skin cell turnover, making your hands appear more youthful and bright.
The range also includes Even Better Makeup with SPF 15 available in 11 shades.
